HBO Max is stacked this April, with Warner Bros. flexing across every genre—and even tapping films from rival studios—to deliver one of the month’s deepest movie lineups.

April on HBO Max is a pretty easy sell if you want range. Warner Bros. likes to cast a wide net across genres, and, yes, sometimes that means licensing movies from other studios to round out the lineup. This month, three new arrivals jump out — a sports biopic, a fashion-world comedy, and a punchy action- adventure — and they just happen to line up neatly by IMDb score.

  • 3. 'Christy ' (2025 ) — IMDb: 6.4

Sydney Sweeney put in the work to play trailblazing boxer Christy Martin, and even if the movie didn't light up awards season, her performance sticks. The story starts before the headlines, when she was still Christy Salters, a high schooler doing everything she could to hide her sexuality. She's recruited — and later married — by her boxing coach, James V. Martin (Ben Foster), and quickly starts making noise in the ring. Things get dark at home, to the point where promoter Don King (Chad L. Coleman) ends up sounding like the sensible one. It may take a rival, Lisa Holewyne (Katy O'Brian), to help mend what feels unfixable.

'Christy' is now streaming on HBO Max.

  • 2. 'The Devil Wears Prada' (2006) — IMDb: 7.0

'The Devil Wears Prada 2' hits theaters in just a few weeks, so this is prime time to revisit the original. Adapted from Lauren Weisberger's novel, Meryl Streep is ferociously good as Miranda Priestly — not literally the devil, but close enough — a turn that earned her an Oscar nomination. Anne Hathaway 's Andrea 'Andy' Sachs kind of stumbles into fashion, then throws herself into the grind, remaking her look and her life to keep Miranda happy. The cost? She might have to edge out her colleague Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) and shelve any guilt to survive. Bonus bit of sequel hype: a new teaser even shows Andy reuniting with Emily.

'The Devil Wears Prada' is streaming on HBO Max.

  • 1. 'The Mummy ' (1999) — IMDb: 7.1

There's a fresh take on 'The Mummy' headed to theaters later this month. That's quick, considering the Tom Cruise reboot faceplanted about a decade ago. Outside of the original Universal Monsters version from nearly a century back, the big winner in this franchise is still the 1999 reboot with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. It's pure Saturday-matinee energy — action with a wink — as Fraser taps into full Harrison Ford mode as 1920s adventurer Rick O'Connell. Archaeologist Evelyn Carnahan (Weisz) ropes him into a hunt for a long-lost treasure, and instead they wake up Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo), who is convinced Evelyn is his resurrected soulmate. Everyone else? Expendable. It's on Rick to stop the fallout.

'The Mummy' is streaming on HBO Max.
