Why Summer House's Ciara and West Swore Off Hookups With Other Bravo Stars
After two years of silence, Ciara Miller says she reconnected with West Wilson and warned him off hookups with fellow Bravo stars—only to see him spark a surprise romance with their costar Amanda Batula.
Summer House never misses when it comes to messy overlaps. Ciara Miller says she and West Wilson literally agreed on a do-not-hook-up-with-Bravo-people rule — right before he started dating their castmate Amanda Batula. She laid it all out in her first public comments on the situation, a Glamour interview published Friday, April 17.
The boundary that blew up
Ciara, 30, says that after their 2023 split, she and West, 31, were inching back toward a functional friendship. They had barely spoken for about two years, but things felt calmer, even friendly — friendly enough that she invited him to her 30th birthday dinner and he showed up.
As part of that reset, they talked about what it would take to actually be friends. Boundaries, expectations, the whole checklist. And the big one, according to Ciara: stop sleeping with people in the Bravo orbit.
"One of those boundaries was no more sleeping with people on Bravo. Obviously, now thats out the window."
She says that is why the fallout after their breakup stung — because she thought the friendship part was real, and then it cratered.
Why Amanda stings more
Ciara is upset with West, sure, but she admits the deeper cut came from Amanda, 34. In her words, you can never totally rule out what a guy will do, but she never expected this from Amanda, who she felt was in her corner. That, she says, is the part that feels the wildest.
How this went from rumor to official
- January: Amanda announces she and husband Kyle Cooke have split. Not long after, rumors start that Amanda and West are hooking up.
- March: Amanda goes on the Trading Secrets podcast and says she is not getting involved with another cast member, full stop.
- Also March: West tells Watch What Happens Live that he and Amanda are just hanging out. He calls her a very important person to him and emphasizes they are friends.
- March 31: Amanda and West post a joint statement confirming they are together. They say they never meant to hide anything and that what developed between them surprised both of them, growing out of a long-standing friendship — which is why they say they tried to handle it carefully.
Ciara on finding out
Ciara says she had less than 24 hours notice before that relationship post went up — including one heads-up that came about 45 minutes before it went live. She ended up reading the full statement with everyone else. One detail she clocked: the post did not use each other’s names, which she found telling.
Bottom line: the timing, the boundary, the friendship — it is all very Bravo-verse specific and very messy. And for Ciara, the Amanda piece is what really twists the knife.
