If your feed is full of tearful edits and "goodbye Dani" posts, take a breath before you believe any of it. The story behind this search is a case study in how fast TikTok can manufacture a departure that never happened.

The short answer: she didn't

Daniela Avanzini has not left KATSEYE. As of July 2026, she's a fully active member — she performed with the group at Coachella in April 2026, appears in the promotion for the upcoming EP Wild (out August 14, 2026), and sat for the group's Vanity Fair interview published on June 30, 2026. There has been no departure announcement from her, from KATSEYE, or from the group's label, HYBE x Geffen.

The "Daniela is leaving" wave is built almost entirely on TikTok rumor content — including outright prank videos, an April Fools post, and a debunked claim that she was moving to the K-pop group IZNA because her mother was ill.

Fact-checkers have flagged that story as fake, and no credible outlet has ever reported it.

So where did the confusion come from?

A real hiatus — just not Daniela's. In February 2026, KATSEYE's label announced that Manon Bannerman would step back from the group. The official statement said she would be:

"taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing."

Manon missed the Lollapalooza South America dates and Coachella, where KATSEYE performed as a five-piece. Rumor accounts blended the two stories — a real absence and a fake one — and "Daniela leaving" took on a life of its own. It didn't help that Daniela got visibly emotional in interviews discussing the online hate aimed at Manon, which clip-farmers repackaged as her own tearful farewell.

What's actually going on with KATSEYE right now?

Busy is the word. The five active members — Daniela, Sophia Laforteza, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung — released the collab "ICONIC BY MISTAKE" with LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT in June 2026, have the Wild EP arriving August 14, and head out on the WILDWORLD tour across North America, the UK, and Europe later in 2026. Manon remains on official hiatus with no departure statement from anyone involved; in April she told fans she was happy, healthy, and in positive conversations with the label.

Why did the rumor stick to Daniela specifically?

She's been a lightning rod for fan-war content since the group's breakout hit "Touch," and she publicly hit back at haters with a long message in January 2026. In rumor economics, the most-discussed member is always the easiest one to "leave."

For the record: Daniela was the first artist of Latin American descent signed to HYBE, and she's still there.

The only thing she's said goodbye to recently is her blonde hair.
