When will Landman season 3 air? Paramount is breaking Sheridan's usual wait — in fans' favor
Paramount+ has already ruled out a 2026 return for Landman, which sounds like bad news until you compare it to what Taylor Sheridan's other shows put their audiences through. Here's the timeline, the filming schedule, and the math on the wait.
Paramount+ has confirmed what nobody wanted to hear: Landman is not coming back in 2026. The interesting part is how that compares to the gaps Taylor Sheridan's audiences have been trained to accept.
No premiere date has been announced. What is known is the production timeline, and it points at spring 2027, with summer 2027 as the outside case. Cameras started rolling in and around Fort Worth in September 2026, with James Jordan — Dale Bradley on the show, and also a Lioness regular — posting a set photo captioned "Up n runnin' and back after it!" Jordan has said filming runs into early 2027.
That's the whole delay in one line: the shoot slipped, so the release slipped with it.

How the schedule came apart
Landman had been on a metronome. Season 1 ran 17 November 2024 to 12 January 2025. Season 2 ran 16 November 2025 to 18 January 2026 — 364 days between premieres. Paramount+ renewed it in December 2025 off record viewership for the platform.
- Original plan — season 3 was slated to begin filming in May 2026, which would have supported another November premiere.
- First slip — the start moved to August. Billy Bob Thornton said on Howie Mandel's podcast that shooting would begin "at the end of August."
- Actual start — production began in September 2026, a full four months behind the original schedule.
- The knock-on — season 2 wrapped shooting in August 2025 and premiered that November. Season 3 is starting when season 2 finished, which removes any realistic path to a 2026 slot.
The comparison nobody makes
Taylor Sheridan's flagship shows have run on two-year cycles, not one-year ones.
Yellowstone 's fifth season split its two halves across November 2022 and November 2024. 1923 premiered in December 2022 and did not return until February 2025.
Against that, a Landman gap of roughly 15 months between the season 2 finale in January 2026 and a spring 2027 premiere is short. It's longer than the year fans got used to, and shorter than what Sheridan's own catalog normally delivers. Special Ops: Lioness took 15 months between seasons. Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown have run closer to annual, but neither carries Landman's production scale.
There's also a practical reason the turnaround can stay tight. Landman is a contemporary drama shot on Texas locations with no significant visual effects load, which is why the estimate lands on spring rather than late 2027 despite the late start.
What season 3 is picking up
The season 2 finale left a clear docket. Tommy Norris has launched his own company, CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle. Gallino Morrell's cartel, introduced in season 2 with Andy García in the role, remains unresolved. Cooper Norris has legal problems, Cami Miller is pushing M-Tex into the Gulf of Mexico, and the show has more than one wedding queued up.
Sheridan remains sole writer and showrunner, which is the structural reason every one of his shows moves at the speed of one man's script pipeline.
Cast expectations are stable: Thornton, Ali Larter as Angela, Demi Moore as Cami, and the returning ensemble. Sam Elliott, who joined in season 2 as Tommy's father, is part of that picture.
For the record: season 2 scored 83% on Rotten Tomatoes against season 1's 78%, and drew the strongest numbers Paramount+ had recorded for an original. The wait isn't a confidence problem. It's a calendar problem.
