They reconnected as teenagers in Utah. At the time, Debbie was dating Donny's older brother Jay. After she and Jay split, Donny courted her for three years. They married on May 8, 1978, at the Salt Lake Utah Temple. She was 19, he was 20.
Their family
The couple raised five sons: Don Jr., Jeremy, Brandon, Christopher, and Joshua. As of 2026, they have 16 grandchildren.
