First kiss at the altar, now getting naughty: Welcome to Plathville newlyweds Lydia Plath and Zac Wyse turn up the heat in Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek at the season 8 premiere, laughing off a producer’s probe about whether the honeymoon phase is over.

Welcome to Plathville is about to kick off a new season, and Lydia Plath and her new husband, Zac Wyse, want you to know the honeymoon energy is not just alive — it is thriving. This is particularly notable if you remember they famously saved their first kiss for the wedding.

The sneak peek: from no-kiss to a little naughty

In an exclusive Season 8 preview shared by Us Weekly ahead of the Tuesday, March 31 premiere, a producer asks the fresh newlyweds if the honeymoon phase is over. Cue awkward giggles, and Zac — 24 — basically says, not even close. Lydia — 22 — keeps it coy, saying Zac sees a side of her no one else ever will. Zac goes a bit further, telling cameras that since getting married in February 2025, he has helped spark and grow Lydia’s curiosity when it comes to intimacy. When a producer teases that he just called Lydia naughty, she laughs and squeezes his hand. He does not deny it.

Why that hits different for this family

Last season, Lydia and Zac agreed to wait on all physical affection — even kissing — until their wedding day. Both had kissed other people before they started dating each other, but Zac’s decision to pump the brakes with Lydia raised eyebrows (and alarm bells) in her family. Lydia’s brother Ethan went so far as to question Zac’s sexuality on camera during an August 2025 episode, confronting him over the abstinence decision.

Zac explained at the time that he made the commitment to honor Lydia, tying the choice to their shared Christian faith. Ethan, meanwhile, vented to his brother Micah with one of the most unfiltered rants this show has aired:

'I don’t think it’s honest to say, 'I’m not kissing her because, you know, of the fruit of the loom. The seven fruits of whatever.' F*** off, you big holy bastard. I think that’s a bulls*** answer.'

So yes — hearing the couple now joke about being naughty is a bit of whiplash if you watched last season’s drama unfold.

Baby talk (and a travel buffer)

Now that they’ve said I do — four months after getting engaged — the pair are already talking timeline for kids. Lydia says she feels ready to be a mom. Zac wants to squeeze in more travel together first. On camera, he notes they had been married eight months at the time of filming and planned to wait a full year before trying. Lydia, ever the planner, points out that means four months to go... not that she’s counting. Zac deadpans that she clearly is.
