Travis Kelce returns to Chiefs camp weeks after Taylor Swift wedding amid ‘Last Dance’ chatter
Travis Kelce is back at Kansas City Chiefs training camp weeks after marrying Taylor Swift — and many wonder if this is the start of his last hurrah.
In a No. 87 jersey and a bucket hat, Travis Kelce jogged onto the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice field on July 29 to a wave of cheers, then slowed up long enough to acknowledge the crowd. Minutes later he was back in lockstep with Patrick Mahomes during open practice, kicking off what will be the tight end’s 14th NFL season.
“Appreciate you guys coming out,” Kelce said as he headed to the field.
The 36-year-old has swapped newlywed life for the Chiefs’ old-school camp routine — dorm beds and all — as the team settles in for another title push. He hasn’t said this will be his last season, but talk of a “Last Dance” has grown louder after longtime mentor Cris Carter publicly framed the year that way, with Canton waiting on the other side.
Kelce is locked in on the near term. He’s back under a one-year, $12 million extension, and the calendar gets real, fast. The Chiefs open preseason against the Los Angeles Rams on August 15, then welcome the Denver Broncos for the regular-season opener. Marquee tests stack up from there:
