Trauma Code: Heroes on Call nabs two more seasons at Netflix
Prepare for more sirens: Netflix is doubling down on a Korean medical drama built on pulse-racing rescue missions.
Netflix isn’t just bringing back The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call — it ’s doubling down. The streamer has ordered Seasons 2 and 3 to be filmed back-to-back, with cameras slated to roll in October 2026 . Director Lee Do-yun returns to helm both runs, writing Season 2 solo and co-writing Season 3 with rising writer Tomasi.
The core trauma team is staying intact, with one key recast on the nursing side. Here’s who’s scrubbing in for the next rounds:
- Ju Ji-hoon — Dr. Baek Kang-hyuk
- Choo Young-woo — Dr. Yang Jae-won
- Yoon Kyung-ho — Dr. Han Yu-rim
- Jeong Jae-kwang — Dr. Park Gyeong-won
- Jeong Ye-in — Cheon Jang-mi (veteran nurse), taking over the role previously played by Ha Young
Season 1 was a rocket
Launched on January 24, 2025 , the medical drama didn’t just find an audience — it overtook a juggernaut. Within 10 days, it bumped Squid Game Season 2 from the top of Netflix’s global Non-English TV chart, with reach stretching across 63 countries.
Season 1 hit No. 1 on Netflix’s global Non-English TV chart just 10 days after its Jan. 24, 2025 debut.
What’s ahead in Seasons 2 and 3
With two seasons locked, the series is poised to scale up the chaos: larger disasters, mass-casualty scenarios, and missions that push the team beyond the hospital — a trajectory teed up by that rescue helicopter, which opens the door to more field work.
Character-wise, expect the spotlight to stay on growth inside the pressure cooker. Dr. Yang Jae-won is positioned to evolve from hesitant trainee to an independent trauma surgeon capable of leading operations, while Dr. Han Yu-rim’s move to Chief of Planning and Coordination could give Baek Kang-hyuk a crucial ally when hospital politics flare. And with Cheon Jang-mi joining the unit, the floor dynamic gets a veteran jolt.
Both new seasons will be produced simultaneously, with filming scheduled to begin in October 2026.
