Former flames Tommy Beresford and Tuppence Cowley run into each other at a lavish London wedding after nearly a decade apart — and the night ends with a guest dead. Guiding — and sometimes corralling — their comeback is Aunt Ada, a retired private eye with little patience for dithering, played by Imelda Staunton. Stirring the pot further is Julius, a charismatic film producer and Tuppence’s husband in this update, determined to win her back and complicate whatever is rekindling with Tommy.
