Tom Holland dodges Spider-Man 5 question, says he’s open to a new MCU role
Spider-Man star Tom Holland opened up about fancying a job beyond acting in a Marvel movie — but which gig is he eyeing?
Pressed in a rapid-fire “yes or no” game during a sit-down with French interviewer Hugo Travers on his HugoDécrypte – Grands formats channel, Tom Holland didn’t bite on whether he’s suiting up again — but he did crack the door open to another Marvel job: directing.
"Yeah, I guess I could,"
Holland answered when asked if he’d direct a Marvel movie one day. Moments later, when the questions turned to Spider- Man 5, he paused and chose to pass — keeping any return as Peter Parker firmly under wraps for now.
Holland has previously said he’s been in the room for early story conversations on a fourth Spider-Man film with Marvel and Sony, but nothing official has been announced. He didn’t add to that here, beyond leaving the fifth-film question unanswered.
More real stunts, less CG
Looking ahead, Holland has also been talking about how he’d like the next Spider-Man outing to feel. In comments reported by GamesRadar, he said recent experiences have him pushing for more practical filmmaking — real sets, real stunts — to ground the action.
"I come from the kind of superhero space, which I absolutely adore. I love playing [Spider-Man]. I think there are things that we could do in the future that can improve those movies by being more practical and finding ways to make people believe that what they're watching is real,"
he said, as reported by GamesRadar. He also pointed to using a practical Spider-Man suit and stunt work as steps in that direction, per the same report.
