Tom Cruise’s Christmas cake list includes John Goodman — who hails his remarkable memory
John Goodman hit Happy Sad Confused with a Tom Cruise encounter that genuinely stunned him—wait till you hear what made his jaw drop.
On Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, John Goodman said his new co-star didn’t just remember their first meeting — he remembered the whole room. Goodman recalled bumping into Tom Cruise again and hearing him tick through who’d been at a Malibu gathering more than three decades ago, a party thrown by Bruce Willis where Goodman says he felt like a guest of a guest and never expected to stick in anyone’s mind.
"He remembers saying hi to me 30-something years ago," Goodman marveled.
Goodman also confirmed he’s now part of Cruise’s holiday-cake circle — the annual white chocolate coconut Bundt from California’s Doan's Bakery that Cruise famously ships to friends every Christmas. Horowitz noted Cruise’s almost presidential knack for clocking everyone in a room; Goodman’s story fit the reputation.
