What the paperwork says
According to court documents filed Tuesday, March 31 and obtained by Us Weekly, Bridges says the relationship is beyond saving after attempts to fix things. The filing lays out a pretty tidy break:
- They are already living apart.
- No shared marital property to split.
- Bridges wants to keep the real estate he owned before the marriage.
- He is asking that neither side get spousal support.
- No debts on either side.
- They have a signed written agreement covering how property, debts, and any potential spousal maintenance are handled.
Where things stood before this
In January, the two publicly confirmed they were separating. Bridges kept it heartfelt and respectful at the time:
"After much prayer and reflection, my spouse and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This was not an easy choice, and it comes with a heavy heart, but also with love and gratitude for the life we shared."
How they met (and why the origin story is kind of wild)
They were introduced in 2022 through a mutual friend who, in a very 2020s twist, was building Hirschi a dating app profile and looped Bridges in as a sort of sounding board. That friend even drafted a message for Hirschi to send, which she then copy-pasted. By December 2024, Hirschi was telling The Tamron Hall Show that what really clicked early on was their shared faith; she said they had a near-identical view of God and how they each experience that in their lives.
Back when they first went public, Hirschi also told People that they both felt like they had stopped expecting to find something great, and then it arrived, crediting God for bringing them together. They married in 2022.
Previous relationships and family
Before Hirschi, Bridges was married to Dori Smith; he and Smith share two children. Hirschi has four kids from a prior relationship.
