Those awkward Amanda Seyfried red-carpet answers about Elizabeth Holmes? There’s an unexpected twist.
Faced with questions about Elizabeth Holmes, Amanda Seyfried ended up more candid than she probably planned.
After a red‑carpet exchange about whether she’s spoken with Elizabeth Holmes lit up social media, Amanda Seyfried jumped into the comments of a reposted clip to roast her own meandering answer from the You Can See Everything premiere.
“What AM I even saying”
On the carpet, when The Hollywood Reporter asked if interviews have gotten tricky lately, Seyfried didn’t pretend otherwise.
“It ’s interesting, yeah, it’s interesting,”
she said, adding that things feel different “for a good reason.” She drifted into thoughts about timing and fate — that everyone in her life is “meant to be there,” that she was meant to be at the event that night and home the next day — and admitted everyday small talk has gotten hard “only of late.”
Pressed on what she’d rather chat about — given there are some things she couldn’t touch — Seyfried got very specific:
- Emus
- Halloween
- Apple pie
- Olives
- “Really good hard ciders”
Why the hedging
There’s a reason she’s dodging. The A24 documentary You Can See Everything, from Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, is reportedly a Holmes project that also involves Seyfried herself. Reports say Fielder recruits her to re‑enact real conversations he had with Holmes, while the film also features Holmes reacting to Seyfried’s Emmy‑winning turn in Hulu ’s The Dropout — a meta setup that blurs documentary and performance and puts the real entrepreneur, the actor who played her, and the filmmaker in the same frame.
