Netflix 's smash hit teen series has earned the love and admiration of fans all over the world, who have eagerly followed the sweet queer love story at its center while growing attached to the entire cast. With Season 3 just around the corner, fans are excited to continue the journey with their favorite characters, as well as some all-new faces. The creator of the original webcomic, Alice Oseman, "can’t wait for the ‘Heartstopper’ fans to meet these new characters." So let's take a look at who is joining Heartstopper in Season 3, and more importantly, how they fit into the story: Darragh Hand as Michael Holden In late November 2023, Darragh was confirmed as the first major new character to appear in Season 3. The Irish-Jamaican actor has appeared in Wake Wood (2009), Grace (2023), and Silent Witness (2023). According to Heartstopper creator Alice Oseman, Darragh was the perfect choice to bring the quirky and optimistic Michael to life and complement Tori Spring. Hayley Atwell as Diane The next new face to join the cast is Hayley Atwell, who will play Nick's Aunt Diane. From the source material, we know that Diane will take her nephew on a trip to Menorca and serve as a thoughtful advisor on his relationship with Charlie. Many fans are excited to see the British-American actress join the cast, and she's no stranger to roles in hit shows and movies. Hayley has a long list of big budget projects behind her name, including Black Mirror, Agent Carter, Mission Impossible and a number of films in the Marvel Universe. Eddie Marson as Geoff Ray Donovan's Eddie Marson joins Season 3 to give Charlie some tough love as his rather straightforward therapist, a beloved character in the comics. Perhaps it will be Geoff who helps Charlie break through his troubles, but only time will tell. Like many others, Eddie expressed his excitement at joining the cast, announcing his role in an Instagram post this April: "Happy to share the news that I will be taking part in @Heartstopper Season 3 on @Netflix." Lara Decaro as Clara Charlie's family is about to get bigger in Season 3 with the confirmation that Lara will be playing his cousin Clara. The 20-year-old actress has been on the rise in recent years, making brief appearances in a variety of projects. We're excited to see what happens with her character and her career after Season 3. Jonathan Bailey as Jack Maddox From one Netflix hit to another. Jonathan, who played heartthrob Anthony in Bridgerton, will make a cameo appearance in Hearstopper's third season as Charlie's hunky celebrity crush, Jack Maddox. Jonathan has long been speculated to be working on Heartstopper, and we're sure his appearance, though brief, will be memorable. In with the new, out with the oldWhile Heartstopper welcomes a number of new faces, the endearing series is also bidding farewell to existing characters. Olivia Colman, who played Nick's mother Sarah Nelson and quickly became a series favorite, will not be returning for the third season due to scheduling conflicts. In addition, Sebastian Croft, who played Ben and Charlie's tormentor, will also not appear in Season 3, but this was not the actor's choice. Alice Oseman felt that Ben's character had served his purpose in the show and his role in the story was complete.
