Ted Lasso Season 4: Jude Mack suits up as Richmond FC’s goalie
Jude Mack stars in Ted Lasso—but there’s more to learn than that credit lets on.
The newest face between the posts for AFC Richmond’s women’s side — the Lady Greyhounds — is Katie “Boots” Quinn, a gloveless, stare-you-down keeper who treats every shot like a personal dare. The character’s no-gloves look isn’t just a vibe; it ’s a running statement about toughness that’s already made Boots one of Season 4’s most talked-about additions to Ted Lasso.
Playing a keeper at TV speed meant standing in against real strikes. Mack has said the on-field work demanded a poker face even when the ball was screaming in.
“I think most of my acting in this show is me trying not to scream and flinch when those pro footballers were kicking the ball at like 90 mph at the goal. And I have to be like, ‘I don’t fear the ball!’ It was crazy,” Mack told Decider.
