Despite Season 3’s apparent curtain call, Ted Lasso is back after a three-year break: Apple TV has dropped the first Season 4 teaser, with Jason Sudeikis returning from the United States to lead A.F.C. Richmond once more.

Well, so much for that tidy farewell. After a three-year breather, 'Ted Lasso' is actually coming back to Apple TV with Season 4, and the first teaser just dropped. The short version: what looked like a clear ending in Season 3 is now a reset, with Ted returning to London for a new gig that flips the playbook.

The new setup

Ted heads back from the United States to A.F.C. Richmond, but not to run the men’s squad again. He’s coaching the club’s women’s team. That’s a pretty big swing for a show that wrapped itself up like a final whistle last time out, and honestly, I didn’t have 'Ted runs the women’s side at Richmond' on my bingo card.

Who shows up in the teaser

The teaser leans on familiar faces and a couple of notable tweaks:

  • Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt), still Beard-ing.
  • Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein), still very Roy Kent.
  • Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), still the backbone of Richmond.
  • Ted’s son Henry, now played by Grant Feely, taking over the role from Gus Turner. You can spot him briefly cheering in the stands — small moment, but a telling recast.

When it lands

The teaser also does the key thing a teaser should: it gives us a date. 'Ted Lasso' Season 4 premieres August 5, 2026 on Apple TV.
