Taylor’s Men Finally Speak: Official Bachelor Podcast Sets Post-Cancellation Tell-All
Canceled, but not gone: Bachelor Happy Hour will still unveil Season 22’s men, giving fans a first look at Taylor’s contestants despite the franchise’s shock decision.
So, The Bachelorette season 22 got yanked days before it was supposed to air. Messy, dramatic, and yes, everyone has questions. While ABC stays quiet, the official Bachelor Happy Hour podcast is stepping in to introduce the guys you were supposed to meet on TV. Not ideal, but it is something.
Podcast pivot: meet the cast you didn't get to see
On the March 27 episode of Bachelor Happy Hour, Golden Bachelor favorite Kathy Swarts, 72, filled in for Rachel Recchia, 30, and basically said, we have a lot to say about these dudes and it is time to actually introduce them. Normally, Rachel cohosts the podcast with former Bachelorette Charity Lawson, 30.
Charity also set expectations for how this is going to work:
'Bachelor Happy Hour will be the only place that you are gonna hear directly from the men of Taylor's cast.'
Quick rewind: how season 22 unraveled
- Fall 2025: Taylor Frankie Paul, 31, is announced as the new Bachelorette.
- Filming happens a few weeks later.
- ABC sets the premiere for March 22.
- Days before launch, ABC pulls the season after old footage tied to Taylor's 2023 arrest resurfaces.
- Taylor had pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in a case involving now-ex Dakota Mortensen, 33. As part of a deal, additional child abuse charges were dismissed, and she was placed on probation.
- On March 19, Taylor's camp said she appreciated ABC's support and framed her decision-making around protecting her family while addressing what she alleges were years of abuse and threats. They said she is weighing her options and planning to tell her story.
Where things stand with Taylor and Dakota
Taylor shares two kids, Indy, 8, and Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul, and a son, Ever, 2, with Dakota. Taylor's rep argued that many women stay silent out of fear and that she is trying to prioritize safety for herself and her kids as she moves forward. Dakota has categorically denied the allegations. He currently has a temporary protective order against Taylor and, for now, sole custody of Ever ahead of an April court hearing.
ABC's plan? Still a black box
ABC has not said whether they will replace Taylor, shelve the whole thing, or try to air the season down the road. No timeline. No update.
What the franchise folks are saying
At the iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 27, Kathy sounded optimistic about the franchise's future and cautious about drawing conclusions about Taylor's situation. She also made the bigger-picture pitch:
'That show is about finding love, and it will come back bigger and better than ever.'
She added that she believed Taylor's arc was intended to be redemptive and that a lot of facts still are not out. Her focus, she said, is on hoping the kids end up with the best possible outcome.
Meet the men anyway: first up, Christopher Lovehall
The day after the awards show, Kathy joined Charity on the pod to talk with contestant Christopher Lovehall, 35, a military veteran, about how he is processing all of this off-camera chaos. He kept it honest:
'Honestly, this just been, like, a whirlwind... I haven't had the time to get my feet underneath me yet with all this, I'm just trying to take it day by day.'
Translation: the guys are finding out in real time, same as the rest of us, and now the podcast is the only official outlet where we are going to hear their side.
