Stephen Colletti and Wife Welcome First Baby—Laguna Beach and One Tree Hill Casts Celebrate
Laguna Beach alum Stephen Colletti and wife Alex Weaver have welcomed their first child, son Rhodes August Colletti, debuting him on Instagram with a black-and-white photo of his tiny hand clutching hers.
If you grew up on Laguna Beach or One Tree Hill, here comes your nostalgia jolt: Stephen Colletti is officially a dad. He and his wife, NASCAR reporter and host Alex Weaver, just welcomed their first child and introduced him to the world with the kind of Instagram that stops you mid-scroll.
The announcement
On Thursday, May 14, the couple revealed their son’s name — Rhodes August Colletti — alongside a black-and-white photo of the newborn grabbing Weaver’s finger while she and Colletti held hands. Simple, sweet, and yes, Rhodes August is a strong name. Weaver is 32; Colletti is 40.
The comments turned into a mini-reunion
The post basically doubled as a Laguna Beach and One Tree Hill roll call, with familiar faces dropping in to celebrate. If you keep the One Tree Hill timeline straight in your head: by the time Colletti showed up as Chase Adams in 2007, James Lafferty was already three seasons deep as Nathan Scott — and these days, he and Colletti cocreate and costar on Hulu ’s Everyone Is Doing Great. That crew showed up big:
- Dieter Schmitz (Laguna Beach) cheered them on and said he can’t wait to meet Rhodes.
- James Lafferty called Rhodes a lucky little human and said it was the best news — fitting, since he’s been in new-dad mode himself.
- Alexandra Park (Lafferty’s wife, also on Everyone Is Doing Great) welcomed Rhodes by name and sent love to the trio.
- Robbie Jones (Quentin Fields on OTH) saluted 'Daddy Colletti' and sent blessings.
- Kate Voegele (Mia Catalano, Colletti’s on-screen love interest on The CW series) congratulated the couple.
- Bryan Greenberg (Jake Jagielski) chimed in with a 'What a week!' and congrats.
- Ashley Wahler — married to Colletti’s former Laguna Beach costar Jason Wahler — gave a special shout to the middle name.
- Ashley Rickards (Samantha 'Sam' Walker on OTH) added a celebratory congrats.
- Colletti himself dropped a baby, princess, and smiley emoji — which about sums up the vibe at home.
How we got here
Colletti and Weaver got engaged in November 2023, tied the knot in October 2025, and shared in January that they were expecting their first child. Fast-forward to May, and Rhodes has arrived.
Dad advice from the OTH family
Colletti has been taking tips from Lafferty, who became a dad in December 2025 when he and Park welcomed their son, River. (For the scoreboard: Lafferty is 40; Park is 37.) Ahead of Rhodes’ birth, Colletti told Us Weekly he’s been watching his friend navigate the early days and taking notes.
'I have been leaning on him. I’ve been watching him forge the path of fatherhood, and I’ve been so impressed with what he and [his wife] Alex together have been doing. It’s just so cool to see your best friends go through that journey and to be right behind them and getting excited here for my wife and I.'
Translation: the One Tree Hill-to-Hulu pipeline now includes baby advice, and honestly, that’s a crossover I didn’t see coming but fully endorse. Congrats to Stephen, Alex, and baby Rhodes.
