Shot on Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, Doja Cat’s Ma Vie World Tour documentary to be unveiled
Doja Cat is turning her Ma Vie World Tour into a documentary—and the way it’s filmed is the last thing you’d expect.
Just hours after she plays the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, Doja Cat is rolling out a new kind of tour film: a roughly 12-minute short stitched together from footage captured almost entirely with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses worn by her and members of her crew. The first-person POV drops October 23 on her official YouTube channel, which has more than 14 million subscribers.
Shot from the performer’s own vantage point, the mini-doc pulls you into the pre-show jitters in the wings, the crush of backstage activity, and the downtime with her inner circle on the road—an unfiltered, from-the-stage view that a traditional camera setup rarely gets. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the idea is to capture the chaos, craft, and devotion that power each stop of the Ma Vie World Tour.
The short doc runs about 12 minutes and premieres October 23 on Doja Cat’s YouTube channel.
Shot through smart glasses
Ray-Ban Meta is also an official partner of the tour, and Doja has been performing in five custom-designed pairs of the smart glasses. Her creative director Brett Alan Nelson built the bespoke frames to fold into her stage looks and choreography, so the same eyewear fueling the visuals is part of the show itself.
Who’s behind the camera
Filmmaker Quinn Whitney Wilson directs the project, bringing a background that spans feature docs, TV, and music videos. Wilson’s credits include:
- The upcoming feature documentary on Jean-Michel Basquiat
- TV series Ziwe
- Your Attention Please
- MPower
- Music videos for artists including Lizzo and Baby Ariel
The result aims to feel like a walk-on pass to Doja’s tour: personal, fast-moving, and seen literally through the eyes of the people making the show happen.
Ma Vie World Tour premieres October 23 on Doja Cat’s YouTube channel.
