The Conjuring: Unspoken is headed to Netflix ’s cloud gaming lineup in October, timed for Halloween, according to What’s on Netflix’s October newsletter. The horror title will stream to TVs and web browsers, with your phone working as the controller — no console required.

Although the newsletter initially filed the game under Netflix’s standard mobile offerings, the outlet reports it will debut as a cloud release. That means you’ll launch it from the Netflix app on compatible devices and play with a paired smartphone, the same setup the service has been rolling out for its bigger interactive pushes.

Inside the game

Per the official logline cited by What’s on Netflix, players become paranormal investigators delving into the haunted Red Lion Inn — a fictional location rooted in The Conjuring lore. You’ll sweep rooms for supernatural anomalies and piece together the tragic past of a grieving family, leaning into moody exploration and mystery-solving over jump-scare button mashing.

Netflix hasn’t named the developer, and it hasn’t said how closely the story will connect to the films beyond the shared universe touchpoints.

Netflix’s horror test run

The move follows Netflix’s earlier interactive horror short, Unhinged, developed by its in-house studio Night School Studio (of Oxenfree fame ). Released on June 30, the roughly 30-minute thriller stranded players in a storm- battered apartment building and cleverly turned the user’s real phone into both a flashlight and a lifeline.
