Same-day arrivals: Avengers: Endgame Encore and Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore
Marvel and Taylor Swift are on a collision course, with dueling encores set to land the same day.
Circle the calendar: September 25, 2026 is now pulling double duty. Marvel is sending Avengers: Endgame Encore back to theaters with a sliver of new footage, the same day Taylor Swift drops an expanded edition of her 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, with four brand-new tracks.
Swift’s surprise add-on
Swift announced the “Encore” edition on Wednesday morning, just a day after unveiling her new single “Patient Zero.” Pre-order listings reveal the full slate of additions and where they land on the new tracklist.

- “Pink Clouding”
- “Babylon”
Those four songs are listed as tracks 13–16 on the updated album, which arrives the same day it hits streaming and retail.
What Marvel added
On the movie side, Avengers: Endgame Encore tacks on four minutes of previously unseen material, nudging the runtime to 3 hours and 5 minutes. It’s a tiny addition with a big job: setting up this December’s Avengers: Doomsday.
The Russo brothers confirmed the plan at April’s Sands Film Festival, framing the re-release as connective tissue between Endgame and the new film.
“It’s critically important to re-release the movie, and, in fact, we’ll be re-releasing the film with footage that is set in the Doomsday story that we have added to Avengers: Endgame,” Joe Russo explained.
Russo said the added scene functions as a narrative bridge into Avengers: Doomsday and that Endgame’s massive reach made a theater return the clearest way to get that story beat in front of audiences ahead of the December rollout.
