Roald Dahl’s Netflix adaptation shoots in Saltburn; Nicola Coughlan, Naomi Scott, Carmen Ejogo spotted
A familiar face just turned up on the set of Roald Dahl’s upcoming Netflix adaptation — and they weren’t the only one.
Camera crews have taken over Station Square in Saltburn, where new on-set photos show a packed cast at work on Netflix ’s next Roald Dahl project. Nicola Coughlan was spotted in a scene wearing a large prosthetic baby bump and standing alongside Toby Jones, according to images published by What’s on Netflix.
Elsewhere on the seaside set, Naomi Scott was filmed in an action beat while Michael Socha chatted with crew outside a café/bar location. Earlier snaps also caught Carmen Ejogo on the shoot. The production is operating under the working title Zoltar.

Netflix acquired the Roald Dahl Story Company in 2021, giving the streamer exclusive rights to build out a slate of features, shorts and series from Dahl’s catalog. This Saltburn shoot marks the fourth major project to come through that pipeline.
How it fits in Netflix’s Dahl universe
The rollout began with Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical , adapted from the West End/Broadway stage hit and starring Alisha Weir and Emma Thompson, which became a holiday streaming favorite.
In 2023, Netflix released the collection titled The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More—four live-action shorts. One of those films, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, later won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film.
That was followed by The Twits in October 2025, which drew backlash from some traditionalists for Americanizing elements of the story.
Expected on Netflix in mid-to-late 2027 .
The new series is still filming in the U.K. under the Zoltar banner and isn’t due to hit screens until mid-to-late 2027.
