Raza Al-Wazar, VisionQuest’s character with a long history in making Iron Man and the MCU
Ryan Gosling’s Ghost Rider just landed heavyweight behind-the-scenes talent — and one gutsy creative swing points to a very different kind of MCU firestorm.
Episode 6 jumps to the neon alleys of Madripoor, where a suited fixer with a small army crashes a botched grab for White Vision. It ’s Raza Al-Wazar — and his brief, brutal re-entry ends with bounty hunter Paladin flattening him and walking off, leaving Raza unconscious and his capture order unfilled.
Raza — the Ten Rings commander who abducted Tony Stark — resurfaces in Madripoor in Episode 6.
If the name rings a bell, it should. Played by Faran Tahir, Raza was the Ten Rings leader who kidnapped Tony Stark in 2008’s Iron Man, holding him in a cave in Afghanistan after that ill-fated weapons demo. Eighteen years later, he’s suddenly back on the board and gunning for Vision.
Raza’s survival threads VisionQuest back to the Ten Rings mythos that later sprawled out in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Dropping him into Madripoor — the lawless port introduced on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier — suggests this isn’t a one-and-done cameo but a doorway into bigger underworld business.
Meanwhile, the show’s larger plot keeps tightening: White Vision is still wrestling with the memories he reclaimed after WandaVision, James Spader’s Ultron is back in his headspace, and a teenager named Thomas Shepherd may have a startling connection to Vision’s son, Tommy Maximoff.
Who’s in play
- Paul Bettany — White Vision
- James Spader — Ultron (voice)
- Faran Tahir — Raza Al-Wazar
- Paladin — a bounty hunter hired to capture Vision
- Thomas Shepherd — a teen tied to Tommy Maximoff
As for where this all points, fans keep asking whether Vision will carry over into Avengers: Doomsday. Marvel hasn’t confirmed Paul Bettany for the movie, and the actor hasn’t tipped his hand either.
Wanda Maximoff remains a question mark, too. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness appeared to kill the Scarlet Witch beneath Mount Wundagore, and Agatha All Along only muddied the waters. As of now, Elizabeth Olsen isn’t confirmed for VisionQuest or Doomsday.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to open on December 18, 2026 .
