Obsession breakout Inde Navarrette lands SNL season 52 hosting gig
An Obsession breakout is headed to Saturday Night Live for a Season 52 debut, notching another big milestone.
The show’s Halloween episode is going spooky on purpose: Inde Navarrette will host on October 31, her first time leading the NBC staple, with Gracie Abrams returning as musical guest. Abrams is arriving with her new album, Daughter From Hell, giving the night a built‑in gothic vibe. Saturday Night Live kicks off Season 52 on September 26.
The early slate leans into chaos in the best way. The opener hands the keys to Jalen Brunson, the New York Knicks star fresh off delivering the franchise ’s first NBA title in 53 years, while fast‑rising K‑pop group KATSEYE makes its SNL debut.
The first four shows
- September 26 — Host: Jalen Brunson; Musical guest: KATSEYE
- October 3 — Host: Dakota Johnson (promoting the thriller Verity, in theaters October 2); Musical guest: Turnstile (amid their Never Enough Tour Pt. 2)
- October 10 — Host: Shane Gillis (after a huge stand‑up run and the latest season of Netflix ’s Tires); Musical guest: Rosalía (her second SNL appearance)
- October 31 — Host: Inde Navarrette; Musical guest: Gracie Abrams (performing from Daughter From Hell)
Why Navarrette now
Navarrette has been steadily building TV cred — Estela de la Cruz on 13 Reasons Why, Sarah Cushing on Superman & Lois — but this year’s horror hit Obsession flipped a switch and made her a headline name. She’s wrapped the thriller Invertigo, and she’s set to play Rogue in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot, directed by Jake Schreier and slated for May 2028.
Landing SNL’s Halloween slot right after a horror breakout is a savvy bit of timing — and a chance to show off her comedy chops with a live audience before the Marvel machine kicks into gear.
Season 52 premieres September 26, with the Halloween episode set for October 31.
Navarrette’s Halloween hour marks her first time hosting, while Abrams’ appearance will be her second turn as SNL’s musical guest.
