Netflix's Monopoly adaptation rolls the dice on its cast – everything we know so far
Netflix is rolling the dice on Monopoly, but the streamer is keeping the cast of the ultimate business game under wraps—for now.
Netflix is turning Monopoly into a reality competition, not a movie. So if you were waiting for a star-studded cast list, that is not happening. This one is all contestants, all strategy, and yes, a life-size board.
Why there is no cast (and what Netflix is doing instead)
Despite early chatter framing it like a film, Netflix's Monopoly is an unscripted competition series. That is why you have not seen any actors attached. Netflix even put out an open call for contestants via its Tudum site, which tells you exactly where they are in the process. A celebrity host could still be added down the line, but nothing is locked yet and no personalities are officially on board.
The game, supersized
The show drops 12 players into a life-size Monopoly Town Square and asks them to do what the board game always demanded: negotiate, trade, buy up the good stuff, and outmaneuver everyone else. Alliances will form, rivals will get squeezed, and if you mismanage your assets, bankruptcy knocks you out. Last player standing takes home a $2 million prize.

Where it fits in Netflix's broader play
This is part of Netflix's ongoing push into big, brand-driven unscripted series. The Monopoly show arrives alongside other adaptations built from well-known IP, like the in-the-works Wonka 's The Golden Ticket, which riffs on Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The bottom line right now
Production is underway, but Netflix is keeping a tight lid on specifics. No contestants, no host, and no extra production details have been revealed yet beyond the format, the prize, and the team making it.
