Matt Damon breaks his silence on the much-anticipated 'Ocean's 14,' revealing he hasn't seen a script and his involvement is still up in the air. While George Clooney remains hopeful, Damon says nothing is set in stone.

Matt Damon, a household name thanks to blockbusters like Oppenheimer and The Bourne Identity, has finally addressed the swirling rumors about his possible comeback in the next Ocean's movie. Fans hoping for a sure thing may be disappointed by what he had to say. While George Clooney has been fueling excitement by suggesting the new installment is moving forward and the original crew is likely to reunite, Damon's latest comments suggest the situation is far from settled.

During a recent sit-down with Netflix to promote his new action flick, The Rip, Damon opened up about the uncertainty surrounding his role in the next Ocean's film. On the Still Watching Netflix podcast, he admitted,

"I keep hearing about it, "

but confessed that's about as much as he knows. Damon, who played the quick-handed Linus Caldwell in the original trilogy, has been a staple of the franchise since Ocean's Eleven. Meanwhile, Clooney recently teased that the next chapter would see the old gang back together, possibly starting production in late 2026. He explained,

"There was something about the idea that we're too old to do what we used to do, but we're still smart enough to know how to get away with something, that just appeals to me. They've lost a step, and they need to find a way to work around their limitations."

Uncertainty Clouds the Sequel

As the interview wrapped up, Damon shifted gears to talk about his upcoming projects. The most significant, he said, is Christopher Nolan 's epic, The Odyssey. Reflecting on the experience, Damon shared,

"I'm still kind of unpacking it, but it did have a profound effect on me. I deeply enjoyed every minute of it. Doing The Odyssey this last year, it felt like my one chance in my life to make a David Lean movie, that I was making the last big movie on film that I was ever going to get to make."

With Ocean's 14 rumored to be on the horizon, many have assumed Damon would be back in action. But his update throws cold water on those expectations. He revealed he hasn't even seen a script yet, and isn't sure one exists.

"You know, we have to get a script, we have to get, you know, there's a lot of ducks we have to get in a row. I do know that everybody would love to do it. You know, the group of people would love to get back together."

Ben Affleck's Possible Cameo

When asked about the possibility of Ben Affleck joining the cast, Damon said his longtime friend and collaborator is eager to make an appearance.

"He's like, 'I've been trying to get in these movies. ' He goes, 'How many of these have you done?' Maybe we can put him in a cameo as Ben Affleck."

For now, the fate of Ocean's 14—and Damon's role in it—remains up in the air, leaving fans to wonder if the iconic crew will ever reunite for another heist.
