Martha Stewart, 84, is officially joining The Real Housewives of New York City season 16, telling TMZ filming was very fun and praising the production as very professional, finally ending weeks of speculation.

Martha Stewart is officially dipping a toe into Real Housewives waters. Yes, RHONY season 16. No, she is not becoming a full-time apple holder. Think blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo, and she already sounds done.

So what did Martha actually film?

Stewart, 84, told TMZ on Thursday, March 26, that she filmed for The Real Housewives of New York City and had a good time doing it. She called the crew professional and said the new season should be exciting. The scene in question? She shot with her longtime makeup artist Daisy Toye — who, plot twist, just joined RHONY as a cast member for season 16. Stewart also gave Daisy a little shout-out, calling her a fabulous New York Housewife.

Before you start fantasy- casting Martha into every future episode, she pumped the brakes. When asked if she’d pop back in later this season, she joked that it was basically one-and-a-half and done — translation: a cameo (maybe two), not a long-term thing.

About those full-time rumors

Last year, there was chatter that Bravo wanted Stewart to join RHONY full-time as part of a refresh. Her camp shot that down fast, making it clear she was not signing on as a Housewife. The cameo, though? That’s real — and frankly, it’s the kind of jolt the show can use right now.

Where RHONY stands heading into season 16

The show has been in flux. After a contentious 2025 season, Brynn Whitfield, Ubah Hassan, and Jenna Lyons all exited. Bravo then paused production to rethink the lineup and finally made the new roster official in March 2026.

  • Back for season 16: Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank
  • New this season: Daisy Toye, Hailey Glassman, Erika Hammond
  • Returning as a friend: Carole Radziwill (she was in the main cast for seasons 5 through 10)

Carole, 62, is being used as connective tissue between the old and new eras of the show — which frankly makes sense. She’s already telling people she knows more of this group than she did when she joined the show the first time around.

Andy Cohen’s read on the rebooted vibe

At SXSW on March 15, Housewives EP and Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen, 57, said the mix is clicking again after a few choppy years (remember: RHONY was paused in 2021 and rebooted with a new cast, then briefly benched again last year for another retool).

We’re excited that Carole is coming back as a friend. People love seeing familiar faces and old friends.

We feel really strong that the next season is going to deliver.

His bigger point: the cast actually hangs together and has real stuff going on, with enough humor to keep it watchable — which is the whole ballgame on these shows.

Bottom line

Martha Stewart is in RHONY season 16, but do not expect a full Martha era. Expect a tasteful cameo or two, some Daisy Toye support, and then she’s out. The season is filming now, with the refreshed cast locked in. Past seasons are streaming on Peacock.
