Posting on X, the Malcolm in the Middle alum vented that the holdup has upended his life — and tossed in a pointed aside about what kinds of projects seem to move faster.

Muniz didn’t spell out the specific snag or the current status of the application, but his post caught fire quickly, with homeowners chiming in about their own long waits. Scottsdale’s website says permits are required for everything from residential improvements to major builds, with applications funneled through the city’s online planning and permitting portal.
City steps in
The public airing drew an immediate response from Scottsdale officials. Councilmember Barry Graham jumped into the thread, asking Muniz to contact him directly so he could look into it.

Arizona ties
Muniz has called Arizona home since 2008 and has kept busy far from Hollywood between acting gigs. His local footprint includes:

As of now, Muniz’s permit dispute remains unresolved. Neither the City of Scottsdale nor the actor ’s team has provided further updates since the exchange.
