London stage debut ahead: Noah Schnapp lines up his next project months after Stranger Things
After Stranger Things, Noah Schnapp’s next move is a London stage debut — a pivot into a play about wealth, privilege, justice, and accountability.
Performances of Affluenza are set for Sept. 26–Nov. 21 at Riverside Studios in London, with Noah Schnapp leading the cast in his world stage debut, according to Variety. Written and directed by artistic director Andy Sandberg, the play anchors the venue’s Mainstage Season 26/27.
The drama follows the fallout from a teenager’s decision to drive under the influence and the life-altering tragedy that follows. Inspired by real events and a controversial legal defense, the story asks where wealth and privilege collide with basic accountability.
A sharp left turn from Hawkins
Schnapp is best known to American viewers as Will Byers on Netflix ’s Stranger Things, a role he’s played since childhood. On the film side, he’s appeared in Bridge of Spies and Waiting for Anya, but this marks his first major outing in live theater.

In a statement to Variety, Schnapp said he and Sandberg had been discussing the right project for a couple of months. He described being deliberate about his first stage role and growing attached to the play’s characters as he dug into the script.
