London revenge thriller pulls Jason Statham back into Guy Ritchie’s criminal underworld
Two heavy hitters are teaming for a London-set revenge thriller — and you'll want to find out who.
Netflix has ordered Dogfight, a London-set revenge thriller that puts Guy Ritchie back in the writer-director- producer chair with Jason Statham leading on screen. The film is set to shoot across the U.K., with backing from Black Bear Pictures alongside Ritchie’s Toff Guy Films and Statham’s Punch Palace Productions. Producing are Ritchie, Statham, Toff Guy partner Ivan Atkinson and Black Bear’s John Friedberg.
Filming on Dogfight is slated to begin in the U.K. in early 2027 .
It ’s their seventh feature together, a run that started when Ritchie plucked an unknown Statham for 1998 ’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The new movie is described as a stylish revenge story rooted in the gritty London underworld—very much the terrain that made their names—even as plot specifics are under wraps.
Another job already in the can
Before Dogfight, the duo already teamed up on Viva La Madness, a crime thriller based on J.J. Connolly’s follow-up to Layer Cake. The film wrapped production earlier this year, with Black Bear on the domestic side and Amazon MGM Studios handling international distribution.
Statham is joined in the Viva La Madness ensemble by:
- Vinnie Jones
- Jason Isaacs
- Babs Olusanmokun
- Camila Mendes
- Ben Foster
- Jonny Lee Miller
- Rauw Alejandro — making his feature film acting debut
A partnership built on mayhem
Ritchie and Statham’s track record together mixes cult favorites and recent globe-trotting capers. Their past collaborations include:
- Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998)
- Snatch (2000)
- Revolver (2005)
- Wrath of Man (2021)
- Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023)
Next up: cameras on Dogfight are expected to roll in the U.K. in early 2027 for Netflix.
