Kitchen Nightmares: where are they now?
Gordon Ramsay has now walked into 100 American restaurants across 10 seasons since 2007, screamed at the walk-in fridge, redesigned the dining room, and left. The follow-up question has always been more interesting than the episodes.
According to the long-running Kitchen Nightmares Updates tracker, as of August 2026: 64 of those 100 restaurants have closed, 34 are still open, two have been sold, and two have relocated. Other tallies put the survival rate anywhere from 30 to 40 percent depending on how they count sales and moves, but the direction is the same.
Seasons 1 and 2 are a clean sweep
Of the 21 restaurants featured in 2007 and 2008–09, exactly zero are still operating under their original ownership. One, The Olde Stone Mill in Tuckahoe, New York, was sold in 2009 and still trades under the same name. The other 20 are gone.

- Season 5 (2011–12) — 4 of 14 open
- Season 6 (2012–13) — 4 of 13 open, plus one sold and one relocated

The ones still standing
Pantaleone's in Denver, from the season 7 premiere, is among the longest-running survivors and still draws praise for its pizza — though the owner has said they're still struggling. Le Bistro in Lighthouse Point, Florida, is one of the town's top-rated restaurants on Tripadvisor. Lido di Manhattan in Manhattan Beach, Oceana in New Orleans, Mama Maria's in Brooklyn, Yanni's in Seattle, Spin-A-Yarn Steakhouse in Fremont, and Zayna Flaming Grill in Redondo Beach are all still trading.
Amy's Baking Company
The one everyone asks about. The Scottsdale, Arizona bakery aired in season 6 in May 2013 and remains the only episode where Ramsay quit mid-intervention. Amy and Samy Bouzaglo were pocketing server tips, serving bought-in desserts, and operating under a house motto:
"The customer is not always right."
The restaurant closed permanently on September 1, 2015. Reports since indicate the couple separated, with Samy relocating to Israel. Amy still bakes and posts her cakes on Instagram.
The revival is doing far better
The 2023 reboot and the seasons that followed have a much healthier record, though the sample is young and the industry average is brutal. Season 8 (2023) is 4 of 6 open — Da Mimmo in Dumont, New Jersey closed in September 2024, and Love Bites Cafe in Saugerties, New York closed a month after its makeover and before its episode even aired, with the owners citing health reasons. Season 9 (2025 ) is 9 of 10, the exception being Kindred in New Orleans, which also closed before broadcast. Season 10 aired July 21 to August 18, 2026, and all seven are open.
Whether that holds is the part nobody can answer yet. Roughly 80 percent of U.S. restaurants fail within five years without a camera crew involved.
