Jodie Sweetin says her once-close bond with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen has evolved since their Full House days, recalling how she was always in the twins’ room—and what’s changed now.

If you have ever wondered where Jodie Sweetin stands with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen these days, she finally laid it out — and no, it is not a secret feud.

From set sisters to real-life sleepovers

On the April 21 episode of the podcast McBride Rewind, Sweetin talked about how tight she was with the twins when Full House was rolling. She played Stephanie Tanner from 1987 to 1995; the Olsens, now 39, shared the role of Michelle.

Back then, Sweetin says she leaned into the big-sister thing. She would head to their room between scenes to hang out, and off set it was full-on kid stuff: sleepovers at her place, weekends at her family ’s cabin, horseback riding, Disneyland trips. She even has photos of the three of them playing dress-up — the twins around 3, her about 6 — which is the kind of behind-the-scenes detail longtime fans eat up.

Different lives after the wrap

Sometime after the show ended in 1995, the dynamics shifted. Sweetin put it plainly: they did not keep up like they once did, and it was not because of drama. The twins were 8 when the series wrapped, and once everyone scattered, the hangouts mostly became family events and cast dinners — and then those got less frequent, too.

The Olsens eventually moved to New York, got married, and built a massive fashion business. They stepped back from Hollywood, which is also why they did not return for Netflix ’s Fuller House revival with the rest of the original cast. As Sweetin tells it, they keep their privacy on lock, and the distance is just... life.

They have crossed paths — briefly

Beyond those early years, they have popped up together here and there. One example: they all hit the Los Angeles premiere of the twins’ movie New York Minute back in 2004, alongside Candace Cameron Bure.

Bob Saget brought everyone back together

The last real reunion was in 2022 after Bob Saget passed. That brought the entire Full House family into the same room again for the first time in a long while. Sweetin says Bob would see the twins in New York, and she had seen them in L.A., but this was the first time the whole group had gathered in years — and it felt exactly the way you want it to.

It was just like it was before. It was normal. We all spent four days just constantly together after Bob passed, and it was like nothing had changed.

So where are they now?

Sweetin summed it up: there is no bad blood; they just live very different lives and drifted. If you are looking for a scandal, you are going to be disappointed.
