Jennifer Lopez Commands the Red Carpet in a Show-Stopping Black Dress at the Office Romance Premiere
Jennifer Lopez stole the red carpet in a sleek black gown at the premiere of her latest Netflix film, setting off a flashbulb frenzy and cementing the night’s glamour.
If you are keeping score at home, Jennifer Lopez keeps winning. She rolled up to the Egyptian Theatre in L.A. for the premiere of her Netflix rom-com 'Office Romance ' and basically turned the place into a runway. The movie is days away, the dress was a moment, and yes, there were plenty of familiar faces circling the carpet.
The look: black, dramatic, and not exactly HR-approved
Lopez went strapless in a black ball gown with an embellished bodice, a full skirt, and a sweeping train that took up its fair share of real estate. Accessories were kept minimal so the dress could do the loud talking. The only mystery here: the designer has not been revealed yet. Consider me curious.
This is very on-brand for her. Fashion has been one of Lopez's superpowers for decades, from the green Versace that basically broke the internet before that was a thing at the 2000 Grammys to the sculptural Ralph Lauren at the 2023 Met Gala. Even her recent Netflix Upfronts look was a flex: a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier corset blazer from Spring 2004 with a satin-and-stretch-lace ruffled skirt from Spring 2014. The promo tour has not missed.
Premiere snapshot
- When and where: May 26, 2026, at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles. On social, the event was billed as the world premiere.
- Brett Goldstein showed up in a white blazer with black pants, keeping it crisp next to Lopez's all-black drama.
- Notable attendees: Adam Sandler, Jackie Sandler, Amy Sedaris, Edward James Olmos, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Tony Hale. Sedaris and Olmos are also in the film.
What 'Office Romance' is actually about
The movie lands on Netflix June 5, 2026. Lopez plays Jackie Cruz, the CEO of an airline called Air Cruz who enforces a strict no-dating policy at work. Then she meets the company's new lawyer, Daniel Blanchflower (Brett Goldstein), and proceeds to break her own rule with a secret affair. Romantic comedy, meet workplace minefield.
The cast has some fun wrinkles: Lopez reunites with Edward James Olmos as father and daughter, nearly 30 years after they played the same dynamic in 1997's 'Selena'. Also in the mix: Betty Gilpin and Zuhdi Boueri.
Between the premise and Lopez's return to rom-com mode, the anticipation is already baked in. If we get the name behind that gown before release day, I will not complain.
