Jenna Ortega plans to step back from TV after Wednesday wraps
Jenna Ortega isn’t sticking to the obvious once Wednesday winds down — after years on TV, she’s eyeing a left turn.
Asked on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast whether another big franchise might lure her after playing Wednesday Addams, Jenna Ortega didn’t hedge.
“I think after Wednesday, I’ll probably be off the TV for a while,” Ortega said.
She pointed to a childhood spent on sets — from Jane the Virgin to Disney Channel’s Stuck in the Middle — as the reason a long TV breather sounds appealing once Wednesday runs its course.
Ortega also noted that conversations about jumping straight into another franchise have been limited, and she isn’t chasing one; if the right thing appears, it appears. No dramatic exit, just a pause from TV after Wednesday.
Where Season 3 stands
Netflix confirmed Wednesday Season 3 finished filming on September 30, 2026 . Production returned to the Dublin area, and a behind-the-scenes glimpse from Paris hints the new episodes will venture beyond Nevermore’s halls.
Season 2 left several cliffhangers in play: Enid turned into an alpha werewolf to save Wednesday and fled north, unable to shift back; Wednesday set off with Uncle Fester to find her; and Aunt Ophelia was revealed alive in Grandmama Hester’s basement, leaving a distinctly unfriendly message for her niece.
Season 3 mixes returning players with high-profile additions:
- Eva Green — Ophelia
- Winona Ryder
- Chris Sarandon
- Lena Headey
- Noah Taylor
- Catherine Zeta-Jones — Morticia Addams (returning)
- Luis Guzmán — Gomez Addams (returning)
- Emma Myers — Enid (returning)
Netflix has not announced a release date or episode count for Season 3.
