Isaac Rochell Says His Neighbors Could Change Everything for the Mormon Wives OC Spinoff
From their O.C. block, Isaac Rochell and Allison Kuch predict the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives spinoff will be turbocharged by real neighborhood drama — and they know half the cast.
File this under: the OC stays messy. Hulu is spinning off The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives to Orange County, and one very plugged-in neighbor says the gossip is already flowing.
Rochell is literally watching from the front yard
Isaac Rochell, 31, and his wife Allison Kuch live in Orange County, and according to him, filming for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County is happening basically on their block. On the Sunday, May 3 episode of the 'Sunday Sports Club' podcast, Rochell said he and Allison know a bunch of the people involved and plan to enjoy the chaos strictly as spectators. He even joked he would be 'next level sat' to watch it all unfold (his words, not mine).
'We are in Orange County. We know half the people on this show... it is juicy.'
'Where I am sitting right now, they literally filmed an episode — like, could throw a rock where they filmed the episode.'
'I think a lot of people are like, "What is going on? These people are not Mormon."... What is it going to look like? I cannot wait.'
Translation: they have receipts, but they are staying on the couch with popcorn. Rochell also clocked the early backlash online and is curious whether the show will win skeptics over. He wonders if producers will lean into bigger drama to offset complaints from fans of the original who are side-eyeing the OC angle and questioning the cast’s Mormon bona fides.
So what is Hulu actually making?
Hulu announced in April that The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County is slated for late 2026. No exact date yet. The new series follows a fresh circle of young moms in Orange County, framing faith as a core identity in a community where some women double down on tradition while others push for change and use their platforms to shake things up. Expect the usual reality mix: secrets coming out, glossy facades cracking, and friendships and family ties getting stress-tested as this influencer crew builds its own answer to the whole #MomTok ecosystem.
The lineup of California-based mom influencers includes:
- McCall Dapron
- Aspyn Ovard
- Avery Woods
- Bobbi Althoff
- Salomé Andrea
- Ashleigh Pease
- Madison Bontempo
- Chandler Higginson
If Rochell’s proximity report is any indication, neighbors and local friendships are going to color a lot of what we see on screen. And if Hulu threads the needle between faith, influencer culture, and OC theatrics, there is a real shot this spinoff changes some minds. Worst case? At least the popcorn will be good.
