It comes from an original script by Matthew Robinson (Love and Monsters), with director Louis Leterrier leaning into a sunlit-suburb tone inspired by vintage Amblin-era Steven Spielberg. In an interview published June 15, 2026 on Netflix ’s Tudum, Leterrier said he wanted a sympathetic, tactile neighborhood feel, and not a ripped-from-life reenactment. The project also carried the working title 11817 during development.

What it’s about
