Netflix 's adaptation of Ali Novak's Wattpad novel is unusually precise about one age and completely silent on another. Jackie Howard's age is stated in the show's own marketing from day one. The age of Nikki Rodriguez, who plays her, is a question three seasons of press coverage has failed to settle.

Jackie's age, season by season

• Season 1 (December 7, 2023) — Jackie is 15, per Netflix's own synopsis: a Manhattan teenager who loses her family in an accident and moves to her guardian Katherine's ranch in Colorado, Princeton plans intact.
• Season 2 (August 28, 2025 ) — Jackie is 16, one school year along.
• Season 3 (August 2026 ) — the timeline advances again, keeping Jackie in her mid-teens; Capital puts her at around 17 by this point.

The actress's age, which nobody will confirm

Here the record goes quiet. When season 1 launched, Vanity Fair profiled Rodriguez and described her only as a 20-something performer, noting she was "loath to reveal her exact age."

IMDb and Wikipedia long listed a birthdate of December 17, 2002 — a date Rodriguez herself never stated in any interview, on any red carpet, to any outlet.

Then TikTok and Reddit users surfaced older photos of her whose posting dates didn't fit a 2002 birth year. In 2025, The U.S. Sun reported that public records list her as Nicole Marie Rodriguez, born in July 1992, with a 2010 high school graduation — which would make her 34 as of 2026, roughly two decades older than Jackie.

Rodriguez has never confirmed, denied, or acknowledged any of it. The "she lied about her age" framing doesn't quite hold, either — she never gave an age to lie about.

The rest of the cast isn't playing their age either

Reports that the three leads were well past high school have circulated since the 2023 premiere. The Tab's 2026 cast rundown notes Corey Fogelmanis, who plays 15-year-old Nathan Walter, is 27 — a 12-year gap that attracted a fraction of the attention Rodriguez's did, because his birthday is public and hers isn't.

There's a long tradition here

The closest parallel is Euphoria 's Alexa Demie: outlets reported her age as around 24 in 2019, old photos and school records later pointed to a 2008 graduation, and she simply never corrected anyone. Further back, Stockard Channing played high schooler Rizzo in Grease at 33, and nobody's enjoyment of "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" has suffered for it.

For the record: the only birthday in this story that comes with a verifiable date is the show's own — December 7, 2023. Jackie gets a year older with every August drop. Rodriguez, officially, doesn't age at all.
