If you love Yellowstone, 50 Cent says his show will scratch the same itch.

On a stop by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson fielded the question he keeps hearing about his new series Fightland: how rough does it get? He answered by pointing straight at another hit known for its body count, Yellowstone .

“They asked me, "Is it violent?" I said, "Well, boxing is violent, right?" Then when they say violence, I say, "'Yellowstone's' violent." Like somebody dies every episode,”

Jackson said to Fallon while teasing the show.

Set against the U.K. fight scene, Fightland follows Maduka “Duke” Kilroy, a disgraced former boxing champion who heads back to London to take on the crime family he believes betrayed him. It’s a revenge story built around a fighter trying to reclaim his life inside a world where every decision can get you hurt.

The series is created by Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith, with Jackson producing. It’s the latest TV move from the rapper-turned-mogul, who’s already behind buzzy crime sagas like Power and BMF.

Who’s in it

  • Howard Charles — Maduka “Duke” Kilroy
  • Nicholas Pinnock
  • Deborah Ayorinde
  • Charles Babalola
  • Max Brown
“It’s exciting. Look, I’m a big game player, you know, like Ronaldo, like Messi and many others. And this man is a big game player,”

Charles said of Jackson, explaining why he signed on.

Jackson has also talked up the appeal of the setting itself, telling CNN that audiences are drawn to boxing stories because of the discipline and grit it takes to survive that world — a mindset he thinks will make Fightland hit hard with viewers.
