Gwyneth Paltrow opens up about her much-talked-about kiss with Timothée Chalamet in Marty Supreme, but surprises fans by ranking another on-screen moment even higher. Find out which Hollywood co-star left a lasting impression.

Gwyneth Paltrow is gearing up for her return to theaters with the highly anticipated sports comedy- drama Marty Supreme, starring alongside Timothée Chalamet. While the buzz around their on-screen chemistry is already making waves, Paltrow recently shared that one particular movie moment stands out above the rest—and it ’s not with Chalamet.

Reminiscing About a Classic Movie Moment

During a recent interview, Paltrow reunited with Ethan Hawke, her co-star from the 1998 romantic drama Great Expectations. The two reflected on their time filming together, and Hawke couldn’t resist bringing up a memorable scene they shared in Central Park. He asked,

You know, I have one selfish question that I have to ask about this movie. You kiss Timmy Chalamet in Central Park. [Paltrow: Yes.] Did you shoot in Central Park? [Paltrow: Yes.] Did you kiss him in the same place you kissed me? I think it’s the same da*n location.

Paltrow was quick to set the record straight, assuring Hawke that she would never repeat such a special moment in the same spot. She replied,

No, honey. Never. Ne-ver! I never would have done that. I never would have desecrated our make-out spot like that.

The exchange sparked laughter, with Hawke admitting that when asked about the greatest on-screen kisses, he always thinks of their scene together. Their playful banter highlighted the lasting impact of their iconic film moment.

Paltrow and Chalamet’s Viral On-Set Chemistry

As Marty Supreme’s release date approaches, Paltrow has been making headlines for her scenes with Chalamet. Photos of the two actors filming a romantic scene in a park quickly spread online, drawing attention from fans and even Paltrow’s friends. She described the reaction as overwhelming, saying,

You should have seen my mommy-group chats when the paparazzi pictures came out of us kissing in the park. All the moms were pretty stoked. My British school moms too — yeah, it was like a global event, apparently.

The images of Paltrow, 53, and Chalamet, 29, sparked plenty of conversation, proving just how much excitement their pairing has generated. Even Hawke couldn’t help but bring up the topic during their interview.

Praise for Timothée Chalamet’s Performance

While discussing her experience on set, Paltrow had nothing but positive things to say about Chalamet. She admitted to feeling a bit nervous about the project, but was quickly impressed by his talent and dedication. She shared,

He was great… To be honest, I was a little nervous. Like, it’s a big role, and it’s a brave move to put a non-actor in a part like that, and I just thought he nailed it. I mean, everyone was so impressed.

Paltrow also expressed her excitement about working with Chalamet, calling him “obviously so talented.” In Marty Supreme, she plays Kay Stone, a retired movie star who becomes involved with Chalamet’s character, Marty Mauser, an aspiring ping pong champion determined to prove himself against all odds.

Marty Supreme is set to hit theaters on December 25, 2026.
