Settle in for Brian Tyree Henry chasing justice in Bass X Machina—just know Netflix’s frontier chaos isn’t far behind.

Netflix ’s new teaser wastes no time with pleasantries: it throws you into a dust-choked shootout where clanking machines and Old West gunmetal share the same sun. The clip frames Bass X Machina as a hard-edged frontier tale with a steampunk engine under the hood, and hints that its lead is a father navigating a world where mercy is in short supply.

"Disarm peacefully, you might live,"

The warning lands early in the roughly one-minute spot, setting the moral math of a place where Brian Tyree Henry’s Bass is forced to be judge, jury, and sometimes the other thing. The tone is all grit and glare, with a lawman who clearly didn’t ask for the badge.

Netflix confirmed the premiere for November 3, 2026 , a shift from an earlier plan to launch October 6.

The teaser arrived via Netflix’s X account and plays like a proof-of-concept for the show’s mash-up of western iconography and roaring industrial tech—quick flashes of danger, then a stark title card and silence.

Who’s in it

Henry leads the voice cast, joined by a lineup that suggests the show’s world stretches well beyond one dusty town line:

  • Brian Tyree Henry — Bass
  • Janelle Monáe — Glory
  • Tati Gabrielle — Dana
  • Cree Summer — Ahni
  • Chaske Spencer — Lighthorse
  • Currie Graham — Rivenbark
  • Starletta DuPois — Etta

Animation is by Studio Mir, the South Korean studio known for kinetic, character-driven action. The score comes from Roman GianArthur and Nate Wonder of Wondaland, pointing to a sound that could lean soulful while still punching like a six-shooter.

Elsewhere in Netflix animation

Alongside Bass’s lawless frontier, Netflix has also greenlit Dealies, an adult animated workplace comedy set inside a supernatural big-box store. The series hails from Joe Bennett and Ted Travelstead (Scavengers Reign, Common Side Effects) with animation by Titmouse, and follows a crew that includes a savant salesman, a gentle gladiator, a quiet virtuoso, a summoner of the divine, and the exhausted manager who hired them all. It’s expected to arrive in 2027.

Bass X Machina premieres November 3, 2026 on Netflix.
