Gothic thriller 'Hollow' could pair Sydney Sweeney with Nicholas Galitzine
A familiar face is being courted for Sydney Sweeney’s Hollow, hinting the actor’s next Hollywood move is about to get a lot more gothic.
In a fresh spin on Washington Irving’s tale, Nicholas Galitzine is in final negotiations to play Ichabod Crane opposite Sydney Sweeney in Sony’s reimagining, Hollow, according to Deadline. No deal has been announced publicly, and Sony Pictures declined to comment.
This version centers Sweeney as Katrina Van Tassel, who drives the mystery herself amid a supernatural love triangle and psychological twists. Belmont Cameli also stars, with additional roles under wraps.
The film is written and directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer as an adaptation of her own debut novel. Beer is producing through Lab Brew alongside LuckyChap and Sweeney’s Honey Trap banner. A theatrical date hasn’t been set.
Beer’s novel is set for fall 2027 via Putnam; the movie ’s release date is still TBA.
Galitzine broke out with Red, White & Royal Blue and The Idea of You, and has been suiting up for action with Masters of the Universe.
Gundam update
While Hollow takes shape, Sweeney is also leading Netflix ’s live‑action Gundam opposite Noah Centineo. Directed by Jim Mickle (Sweet Tooth), the film follows rival mech pilots on opposite sides of a decades-long war between Earth and its former space colonies, forced into uneasy cooperation when a larger threat emerges.
Production kicked off in Queensland, Australia , in April 2026 and wrapped in July, putting the project in post‑production. Legendary Pictures is producing with Bandai Namco Filmworks, with Sweeney and Centineo also on board as producers. Netflix has not announced a release date.
