Get cast, plot and release date for Ramayana: Part 1, the Indian epic mythological film
Let’s be honest: with Ramayana: Part 1, the only things you really want are the cast, the plot, and when it lands.
The first chapter of director Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part adaptation zeroes in on Prince Rama’s early years in Ayodhya — his bond with his brothers, his courtship of Sita, and the promise that sends him into exile. Ramayana: Part 1 builds to the turning point of the epic: Sita’s abduction by the demon king Ravana, with the next installment set to take up what follows.
Backed by producer Namit Malhotra alongside actor- producer Yash, the film is adapted from Valmiki’s Ramayana and co-written by Tiwari and Shridhar Raghavan. Tiwari, whose credits include Dangal, is aiming for a large-scale, live-action take designed for the big screen.
