George Clooney spotlights Amal Clooney’s impressive career: 'she gets it done'
George Clooney’s got someone else stealing the spotlight at home — Amal’s landmark legal work and global advocacy keep giving him reasons to gush.
At a masterclass at the Venice Film Festival, George Clooney didn’t talk about his own career first. Asked about the Clooney Foundation for Justice , the nonprofit he co-founded with his wife Amal, he immediately turned the spotlight to her work as an international human rights lawyer — and did it with a mix of pride and bite.
“She’s a b*****, and she gets the job done.”
Clooney said Amal has spent years bringing people accused of serious crimes into courtrooms, and he added that she’s the only person to have ever put a “very infamous extremist organization” on trial and won — a line that drew thunderous applause from the Venice audience.
He tied their foundation’s mission to something personal, saying the push for accountability isn’t abstract for them.
“We do it for our families. We do it for our friends.”
The comments came during a wide-ranging talk that touched on his career, politics and the changing nature of movie stardom, but his admiration for Amal Clooney clearly took center stage. Earlier at Venice, during his Golden Lion acceptance speech, he also took time to honor Amal and their children.

Clooney laughed, smiled over at Amal and bowed his head while the room exploded. And when it was his turn at the mic, he returned the favor with a line that’s stuck ever since.
“I could not be more proud to be your husband.”
