Lauren Sánchez Bezos says she’d have another baby “tomorrow,” hinting she and husband Jeff Bezos are open to expanding their blended family.

Lauren Sanchez Bezos tossed out a headline-ready line about babies, then the cleanup crew arrived just as fast. Here is what actually happened, plus a quick catch-up on the Bezos-Sanchez family situation and that very splashy wedding.

The baby talk, then the immediate walk-back

In a New York Times piece published Saturday, April 11, Lauren, 56, joked about the idea of having a baby with her husband, Jeff Bezos, 62. When the reporter asked if the couple was thinking about expanding their already-blended family, she doubled down with a grin.

"I would have another one tomorrow. Tomorrow."

Fun moment, but not an announcement. A spokesperson quickly phoned the Times to make it clear: Lauren is not having a baby. Consider the record corrected.

Where their blended family is at

They have been open about how their household works. Lauren has talked about low-key Saturdays turning into big family dinners where the conversation can zigzag because there are so many kids at the table. The whole thing has taken time and effort, especially on the co-parenting front.

  • Lauren has three kids: Nikko, 25, with ex-boyfriend Tony Gonzalez, plus Evan, 19, and Ella, 18, with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell.
  • She has said it took roughly five years for her and Gonzalez's family to get to the smooth, respectful co-parenting place they enjoy now.
  • Jeff has four children with his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott.
  • Lauren has also been clear that you do not need to be best friends with an ex, but you do need to communicate. She is proud that her son can spend Thanksgiving with both parents, no drama required.

Engagement, a very fancy wedding, and a college drop-off

Lauren and Jeff got engaged in 2023 and tied the knot two years later in a celebrity-packed ceremony in Venice, Italy. Her kids were front and center: both sons walked her down the aisle, and her daughter served as maid of honor. In the Times interview, Lauren got emotional recalling the toasts her children gave at the wedding. Also on brand for these two: before the big day, they threw a foam party on his roughly 500 million dollar yacht.

A few months after the vows, in August 2025, Lauren marked a different kind of milestone: dropping Evan off at college. She posted that it felt like closing an 18-year chapter of early mornings, late-night snacks, and family dinners, and shared a photo of him assembling a dorm cabinet. She summed up the moment as equal parts pride, heartbreak, and gratitude.
