Forgotten 2010s Action Drama Rockets Up Netflix Charts, Finds New Life on Streaming
After a quiet Netflix arrival this month, a once-forgotten 2010s series has suddenly surged, overtaking several of the streamer’s splashier originals.
After landing on Netflix on June 22, 2026 , the TNT action drama The Last Ship rocketed up the streaming rankings. Per Nielsen data published by THR’s charts, it placed third on the overall Top 10 and No. 1 among acquired shows for the week measured, logging 1.23 billion minutes (1,232 million) streamed. Only Netflix’s I Will Find You (2,484 million minutes) and Love Island USA (1,966 million) ranked higher; in the U.S., Love Island USA streams on Peacock.
A separate look at Netflix’s own Global Top 10 for the week of June 22–28 shows The Last Ship at No. 10 with 1.9 million views and 13.1 million hours watched, according to Collider’s July 1 tally.
The Last Ship racked up 1.23 billion minutes streamed in a single week, per Nielsen.
What the show is
Originally a TNT series, The Last Ship follows the crew of a U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer trying to save what’s left of civilization after a deadly virus wipes out most of humanity. It ran for five seasons from 2014 to 2018 and now arrives on Netflix with a full library ready to binge.
Critics largely praised its brisk, military-grade action and sturdy ensemble: the first season sits at 65% on Rotten Tomatoes, the second at 86%, and the audience score across the run averages 68%.
