Five MCU roles that suit Sydney Sweeney

After her turn as Julia Cornwall in Sony’s much-maligned Madame Web, Sydney Sweeney keeps popping up in Marvel chatter. Unverified scoop accounts have tossed her name around for everything from the X-Men bench to Spider- adjacent roles, and fan art has only poured fuel on the fire. One rumor stream even linked her to Emma Frost before other online buzz pointed to Samara Weaving — none of it confirmed by the studios.

• Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) — Spider-Man’s flirtatious frenemy is an acrobatic thief with a moral gray streak. Sweeney’s mix of charm and danger — plus her existing spider-verse footprint — makes this a clean handoff into the Spidey corner of the MCU.
• Mystique (Raven Darkholme) — A shape-shifting spy built on secrets and shifting loyalties. With Rebecca Romijn and Jennifer Lawrence defining past takes, an MCU reboot could use a new gear; Sweeney’s work in Euphoria and The White Lotus shows she can play complicated and cold-blooded without losing the human thread.
