Expecto Parentum: Harry Potter Star Bonnie Wright Is Pregnant With Baby No. 2
Harry Potter alum Bonnie Wright is expecting baby No. 2, revealing the news with a tender Instagram shot of 2-year-old son Elio resting on her bare bump and the playful caption: Two babies on my lap.
New Weasley incoming: Bonnie Wright is pregnant with baby no. 2, and she announced it with the kind of sweet, simple photo that does all the talking.
The reveal
On Sunday, April 5, the 35-year-old actor shared an Instagram shot of her 2-year-old son, Elio, napping on her bare belly. The caption did the rest.
"Two babies on my lap."
"Our second little earthling joining us this autumn!!"
Former costar Evanna Lynch popped into the comments to celebrate, because of course she did.
Catching up on baby no. 1
Wright and her husband, Andrew Lococo, welcomed their first child, Elio Ocean Wright Lococo, at home on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. She wrote at the time that everyone was healthy and happy, and she and Andrew were fully in love with their new arrival — she even called him their sun, which feels extra on-brand given the name Elio.
She thanked their birth team for getting them through the chaos (in the best way), shouted out a few postpartum angels who helped during recovery, and credited a birth course from educator CC Meyer for easing the learning curve. She also singled out Andrew as her rock during labor — the guy apparently got a world-class hand squeeze and never flinched. Elio, for the record, has a very tender, very proud papa.
Life with Elio so far
Since then, Wright has leaned into the home-and-nature groove. In January, she posted about getting closer to the land: Elio and Andrew sifting compost and messing around in the garden, library runs, trains and puzzles on the floor, and some new Hello Earthling projects simmering. Elio, by her account, is determined, chatty, funny, busy — and still always down for a kiss and a cuddle.
Will he do the wizard thing?
Back in September 2024, she told Us Weekly she is not planning a hard sell on Hogwarts, but she will nudge in that direction. The plan: read the Harry Potter books together before pressing play on the movies, maybe trade off one book and one film as they go. Audiobooks are on the table too. Sensible approach.
For now, it is a happy trio getting ready to be a quartet. Baby no. 2 arrives this autumn.
