My Adventures With Superman Star Teases Game-Changing Season 3 Update
Adult Swim’s breakout My Adventures With Superman is supercharging Cartoon Network’s bold reimagining of the Man of Steel and his rogues gallery. With season two wrapped and a third season confirmed in 2024, all eyes are on where the DC icon soars next.
Good news for everyone waiting on more Clark, Lois, and Jimmy chaos: My Adventures With Superman season 3 is very much alive and moving. No date yet, but the guy wearing the cape in the booth says it is coming.
Where season 3 stands
The show has been a breakout for Adult Swim, thanks to its lighter, rom-com-adjacent take on Superman and a fresh spin on his friends and rogues. Season 3 was officially greenlit in 2024 after season 2 wrapped, and now Jack Quaid (Clark Kent/Superman) just dropped a status update while doing press for the next and final season of Amazon 's The Boys.
"I don't know the exact date for when it comes back. I know that it is coming along. I've gone back and done more recording and more ADR. It is on the way, I promise you. Guys! It's on the way, and it's happening. I'm really excited for this season too. I think it's delightful. What I love about being in The Boys and this show is that it's both sides of the superhero coin. The Boys is like the gritty, dark, super-violent side, and then Superman, he just wants to save a puppy."
Translation: they are actively recording, the season exists, and Quaid is hyped. No calendar day yet, but production is deep enough for ADR work, which is not nothing.
What they teased for season 3
During a San Diego Comic-Con panel, the creative team flashed a bunch of future pieces that point to a bigger, louder season:
- Conner Kent, aka Superboy, sporting his classic 90s look
- Cyborg Superman crashing the party
- Returning heavy hitters: Lex Luthor and Deathstroke (among others)
That lineup has fans whispering about a possible 'Death of Superman' riff. To be clear, that storyline has not been confirmed for the show, but the ingredients are definitely on the counter.
This animated DC corner is getting bigger
Adult Swim is not stopping with Metropolis. A spin-off, My Adventures With Green Lantern, is in the works and set in the same universe. This one centers on Jessica Cruz, here portrayed as a high school student whose life gets wrecked (in the superhero way) when a Green Lantern Power Ring literally falls out of the sky and chooses her. As if that is not enough, more fallout from an ancient Lantern war starts dropping in too, including the alien enemies who come with it. No premiere date yet, but the fact they are expanding pretty much says everything about how confident the network is in this world.
Bottom line: Season 3 is recorded enough to be real, the character bench is getting deeper, and the universe is expanding. As soon as an actual date lands, I will yell it from the Daily Planet roof.
