Dylan Douglas is set to make his big-screen debut — and it’s in a World War II thriller built on a daring historical plot.

Diving straight into a period thriller, Dylan Douglas plays the younger version of Benny Lipman in The Hit on Hitler: Mobsters vs. Nazis, with David Arquette taking over as the character later in life. The film is directed by Danny A. Abeckaser (who also appears on screen) and written by Kosta Kondilopoulos, and it was shot on location in Budapest, Hungary.

The setup

Set in the 1930s and inspired by real events, the story follows American Jewish gangsters who refuse to stand by as fascism spreads. Benny starts by cracking down on pro-Nazi rallies at street level, then hatches a far riskier plan: slip into Nazi Germany and assassinate Adolf Hitler by luring him to an art gallery — a mission bold enough to require backing from his mob bosses.

U.S. distribution and a premiere date will follow once a deal is set.

Bleiberg Entertainment will shop the film at the American Film Market in Los Angeles in November.

For Douglas, it’s a high-profile start: he’s the eldest child of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and the grandson of Kirk Douglas. He graduated from Brown University with a political science degree in 2022, and this marks his feature-film debut.
