The transformation: Cruise, un-pretty
The trailer makes it clear this is not a vanity play. Cruise is buried under elaborate aging prosthetics: deep-set wrinkles, sagging skin, a full-on beer belly, and a thinning gray comb-over. The performance goes just as hard. According to Iñárritu, pushing Cruise this far was "another kind of dare," and it shows.
